Honoring Heroes Who Act When Sudden Cardiac Arrest Strikes.
When someone collapses from SCA, fast-acting bystanders and first responders can make the difference between life and death.

The Heroes for Life program enables ZOLL® Medical and SCA survivors to recognize the heroes who help save a life using a ZOLL AED. From the person who decided to purchase the AED, to the unexpected heroes who administered CPR and used the ZOLL AED, to the EMS team providing the next line of critical care, all of them made a difference.
Having the defibrillator available and the actions of my colleagues when I passed out are the reasons I survived my cardiac arrest.

ZOLL is committed to making AEDs readily available to the public to help ordinary people save more lives. As part of our Heroes for Life program, survivors who agree to share their ZOLL AED save story are presented with a ZOLL AED to donate to their charity of choice. This is a way to celebrate our survivors, raise awareness, and allow these heroes to pay it forward to help another SCA victim.
These SCA rescue stories emphasize the critical role bystanders play in helping to increase the odds of survival, illustrating the importance of administering high-quality CPR and using an AED to restore a normal heart rhythm.
Were you an unexpected hero who helped save an SCA victim using a ZOLL AED? Are you an SCA survivor who was saved with a ZOLL AED? If you’re an SCA survivor, a bystander who stepped in to help, or a professional rescuer involved in a rescue with a ZOLL public access AED, we want to hear your story.
Simply fill in the form and a ZOLL representative will reach out to you.

On that spring day, he had been working on a painting job in the home workshop of Dave Jordan, a friend he often worked with. Mentioning that he was feeling just a bit “off,” Kevin was preparing to head home for the day when he collapsed onto the workshop floor.
